When we are born into this world, our first visual experience is simple stimulation by light and movement (Luz y Movimiento).  As our eyes develop and become accustom to the world around us, we begin to see more clearly, discovering the source of the light and the movement.  And so it is also with the artwork of Ender Martos.  In addition to discerning these elements of light and movement in his creations, we are able to delight in the invigorating colors and geometric forms that are present throughout.  Ender Martos invites the viewer into a new dimension of interpretation, playing with light and perception to create senses of movement and orderly chaos.

Born and raised in Venezuela, Martos now lives and works in Austin Texas where he received his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of Texas.  Although it is fairly easy to see references to, and the influence of, many prominent Venezuelan artists in Ender Martos’ works, it is also easy to discern that Martos is following his own path, constantly experimenting and exploring his medium.
