EXPLORING PRINT: 4 Artists Illuminated, A progressive afternoon with four engaging printmakers from noon to 3pm. Dan Rizzie, Koichi Yamamoto, Orna Feinstein, & Miguel Aragon.

Orna Feinstein fuses the traditional medium of printmaking with a contemporary approach using oil inks on a wide variety of materials to create intricate layered three-dimensional monoprints.  Feinstein’s most recent works in this exhibit continue her exploration of the printing process, pushing beyond her practice of layering printed Plexiglas above layers of printed fabric and paper, to create thickly layered printed surfaces that spiral above the base plane much like surfaces protrude from a pop-up book.  The extra depth of these works further enhances the eye-deceiving forms and patterns.

Still inspired and fascinated by the interior geometry of the organic, the concentric patterns of tree rings and the cellular structure of a microscopic view of a plant, Feinstein is creating a new reality where the external and the internal, the organic and the geometric, become one in a balanced yet playful composition.

In 2014 and 2015, Orna Feinstein has showcased a traveling retrospective of her works titled “Now and Zen – Fifteen Years of Contemporary Printmaking.”  Viewings included the Museum of Geometric and MADI Art in Dallas and the Museum of the South East in Beaumont.  Women & Their Work has granted Feinstein a March 2016 exhibit in their competitive schedule where she will reuse more that 15,000 art exhibition invitations to create a massive site-specific installation.

CAMIBAart is honored to be the exclusive representative for Orna Feinstein in Austin.
