CAMIBAart is pleased to announce that Adreon Henry is joining our roster of exclusively represented artists. His graphic sensibility, attention to detail, and process-driven artwork make him a perfect fit for the gallery.
In this, Adreon Henry’s first exhibit with the gallery, visitors will enjoy artworks spanning the last nine years, including works finished just last month. The bulk of the works on display are created using his signature technique of painting, drawing, and printing on industrial grade vinyl, then cutting, weaving, assembling, and sanding. Due to their weaved nature, the resulting artworks visually hark back to indigenous weavings of rugs or wicker baskets, and at the same time the color palates and graphics are reminiscent of op-art, constructivism, and graphic art; this is an aesthetic that is all his own.
What better way to welcome a new artist to the family than with a multi-media exhibit and welcome reception. Join us as we celebrate Adreon Henry’s World!
In his own words:
“For my woven artworks, a major part of the message conveyed by each piece rests in the process.”
“The method is a meditation on the duality of space, the importance of distance and the lack there of. This duality influences the relationship of the element to the whole, while also celebrating the fascination of transformation, and the idea of new unities.”
About the Artist:
Over the last 17 years, Adreon Henry has created and presented his art in over 60 exhibits in 15 cities throughout 5 states and 4 countries, including: Frankfurt, Germany; Costa Mesa, CA; Miami, FL; Albuquerque, NM; Johnson City, TN; and Marfa, TX. His works are included in many corporate collections including Charles Schwab, Dell Children’s Hospital, and Google. Adreon Henry’s interest in how things are constructed and his background in design are both clearly visible through his choice of materials and focus on process. He currently lives and works in Austin, Texas.
