LOCATIONS OF ARTWORK INSPIRATIONS
Artist Valerie Fowler created this series of artworks to depict natures pathways and habitats she discovers around her home town of Austin Texas.
Below you’ll find an image of each artwork in the exhibit; most also include a snap-shot from the real life location - but remember, these locations are just seeds for the artwork - Valerie is working mainly from memory, creating a fictitious setting based on a real world experience.
With the Habitats & Pathways exhibit, Valerie invites the viewer to look beyond the first impression of the place we frequent in order to nurture a richer understanding of our earthly habitat. In that vein, we have located each of the inspiration locations on a treasure map to encourage you to see what Valerie sees.
