Proudly presenting ReRoot, Orna Feinstein’s fourth solo exhibition with CAMIBAart Gallery, opening January 7th and running through February 6th.  This meticulously curated exhibit presents brand new works from the Dendro Beton series alongside never before seen works from the Branch and Rooted series.  In explaining these series and the idea behind showing them together, Orna Feinstein says:

Orna Feinstein; Branched & Rooted #55; 2004

Orna Feinstein; Branched & Rooted #55; 2004

“From 2004 through 2009 I worked on the Branched and Rooted Series, which stemmed directly from the Rings Series and focused on tree branches and roots. Through the years my work has evolved, and the use of material has expanded. The sculptures I have been creating over the last 2 years in the Dendro Beton Series are directly inspired by the Branched and Rooted Series.  In my practice, the evolution of the subject matter continues, just as organic material ReRoots.

“As we have moved through 2020, the pandemic year, and are going into recovery in 2021, I feel that these series have the momentum to portray and mimic a plant that sends its branches away from the trunk and grows new roots. The juxtaposition of the prints and sculpture, old and new artworks, suggest hope for renewal, growth and expansion.

Artworks in the Branched and Rooted Series are unique explorative monoprints on paper while the works in the Dendro Beton Series are concrete based sculptures with thread and paper imbedded inside. All of the artworks are prime examples of Orna Feinstein’s mastery of her processes, never-ending creativity, and ongoing exploration within the tree theme. Feinstein’s abstract interpretation of the microscopic details of plants is revealed in all of these fascinating works.
